I keep returning to this resort because of the wonderful staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The grounds and the beach are beautiful. It’s just the right size to have different areas to visit apart from the spectacular beach but small enough to feel intimate. I highly recommend the Delphine bar for a delicious after dinner specialty coffee.

“The best family vacation”

Excellent hotel, I enjoyed the stay with my family very much, the staff are always attentive. beautiful beach, even in January this shiny and it seemed like summer. I recommend it 100% ❤️ This is my second time and again the stay has met all my expectations.

I love the Tuxpan hotel and staff. My visit was from December 21, 2024 until January 3, 2025, encompassing both Christmas and New Year's day. This was my third visit, my first in 2014, and then again in 2015 to have my wedding. While it was some time ago, they were an excellent choice for a wedding. Our family and friends loved it. But back to the present day. The hotel has aged a bit, but like your favorite aunt this just adds to the character. There is a sea side feel to the hotel. Views from the 4th floor rooms are incredible. The hotel is very clean, the housekeeping staff working hard to make sure your room is comfortable and spotless! Beds are comfortable, offering a good sleep. Cuban food is really good. It is not Jamacian or Mexican, so not spicy. There is something for everyone at the buffet, myself enjoying omlettes, fresh fruit, minced pork, pumpkin, and plantain, amongst other goodies. They sometimes offered flan and rice pudding which are so good. The restaurants offer a special treat away from the buffet. Try the Cuban soup, you will love it! Also treat yourself to a specialty coffee in the coffee bar. The staff are warm and friendly, making you feel like an old friend. They take pride in what they do. One of the servers is a beautiful singer and will perform a few bars on request. The hotel books excellent entertainment. You will enjoy the performances. Make sure to tip them, like here love performers make their money from tips. Cuba is still suffering from the embargo. Sometimes certain items are not available. Do not let this stop you from traveling, tourism is a very important industry. The recent news has spoken of black outs. Rest assured Varadero is not affected by this. Also, the black outs are rolling, not random. They are planned and residents know when they will happen. Again the black outs do not affect the hotel. If you are still worried note the hotel has a generator (we asked). Ok so let's talk about the beach. It is AMAZING!!!!! It's so beautiful, sea to sky. You will not be hustled, the hotel has discreet security and we didn't see anyone. The sand is so soft and white. When the ocean is calm you can see the ocean floor, this is not dark lake water! And the colour, wow it is the most perfect turquoise. Walk the beach into the town. It will take 30-40 minutes and is gorgeous every step of the way. If you are looking for an escape, make the Tuxpan your destination. Note for Canadians, while you can tip in Canadian dollars, bringing US currency is better. Also Cubans can't exchange Canadian coins, so don't bring those. Tip well and tip often!

A group of five of us visited this hotel from February 2-9. We just arrived home last night. We had a great vacation! The hotel is definitely showing its age but it’s extremely clean and the staff are amazing. The food I cannot complain at all, it is Cuba and it was a bit repetitive but you could always find something. We had eggs every morning for breakfast and they had condiments throughout the resort. The snack bar has tasty sandwiches and fries. The bartender Raynr, young guy with curly hair is such an amazing guy! He is always smiling and is just full of life. We loved him! Maria in the entertainment crew was a lovely person, she gets everyone up and going, a true gem ❤️ Ray in entertainment too was so friendly and always smiling. The beach was absolutely beautiful of course and so close to the hotel. The wait staff at the buffet were some of the friendliest people I’ve met. I can see why there are a lot of returning guests to this hotel. It’s a smaller resort and very easy to get around. It’s also just a short cab ride into town.
