It's an amazing place on a peninsula under the high trees. The location makes it a kind of unique -- you live in a shady forest which covers you from the heat of the sun for a whole day. Nice choice of rocky beaches completes this almost ideal nature complex. From a services point of view the standard is rather high by Croatian measures. The appartments are in mediterrainian styled houses with one or two bedrooms, bathroom and living room with a kitchen. Our family's choice will always be the Kids' club -- a shady playground with a rich animation programe, leaded by young and engaging people. This year it was even better than ever thanks to a new staff! P.S.: A broken (and not fixed through the whole stay) dishwasher spoils the rank.

This is definetely a 3 star hotel, if not 2. I don't know why it should have 4 stars. When we came to our room, we have noticed, that from the entrance to the bathroom floors were not cleaned at all. Fabric floors the are from the 90s have seen a lot in the past and are obviously difficult to clean. There was something that looked like a pubic hair in the sink and some yellow drops seen in the sink. As if someone came into the room to let it go in the sink. There were ants in the bathroom. Waiter in the restaurant seemed unhappy and were quite arrogant, if you didn't order enough drink at the dinner. If you don't order drink at the dinner (there is no free drink available, not even tap water), you become a laughing stock for the waitresses as the word seems to get around very quickly. A price for 0,33 l bottled water was 2,4 €, which I think is A LOT. As some have written before, the hotel is in superb location, on the outside very well maintaned, but it desperately needs a renovation. I knew beforehand, that the toilet is very loud to flush, so it didn't surprise us, when we came. Food in the restaurant was average. Bed were wery stiff and the pillows are too full for comfort.

I have been to Vila Laguna several times, most recently a week ago. The location is unique, cozy and homely. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel and its surroundings are very clean and tidy. he only drawback of the hotel is the rooms, which are a bit dated and small. I noticed that there are different rooms available for the same price (especialy sea view rooms). Some have a larger balcony, others a larger room the third rooms has a small balcony and a small room - they are like classic rooms but you pay as a superior rooms. A wide selection of dishes is available for breakfast and dinner, but up to 30 min. before closing. Then they slowly start to clean and they don't supplement the offers. The beach is well-kept with plenty of shade but you have to make an effort to get sunbeds. There are not many and they are already reserved early in the morning. The sunbeds are for a little charge (20 kn). I think the price of the hotel is suitable for the quality, so overall the hotel is ok.

We spent a week at Plava Laguna. The location was stunning, with easy access to the beach and coastal path and the grounds were kept scrupulously clean and tidy. We found the staff to be very helpful and extremely hard working. I had made a mistake in booking, getting mixed between the villa (which I thought were the individual buildings in the grounds) and apartments (which I thought were the split level rooms) - these are in fact the other way around so we ended up in the villa by mistake. That actually worked better for us, with a split level room with the childrens' beds in a (fully enclosed) mezzanine. Some of the apartments are likely to be affected by noise if near the playgrounds in particular (lots of children were running around having fun). The rooms were also kept very clean and tidy, but there was a lot of noise from the plumbing from other rooms, meaning we needed to sleep with ear plugs. It would have been nice to have the option for extra pillows, as each bed only has one fairly thin pillow provided, making it difficult to sit up in bed if you wanted to read, or watch tv etc. The mattresses are also fairly hard, which is good for some but not to everyone's comfort. Overall, a beautiful location with helpful staff, good food and reasonably-priced drinks, with a lovely beach area, but bring earplugs.
