We booked a holiday through Mistral Holidays, with this Company using the Valamar Parentino Hotel for our 7 night stay. We were very pleased with our room, which had a sea view. A bonus was having tea and coffee making facilities. Our room was kept in a clean and tidy condition each day - thanks are due to the housekeeping team. There was an excellent choice of food at breakfast time and in the evening - all tastes are catered for - well done to all who work in the kitchen and restaurant. Once we were aware of the number of people using the restaurant in the evening we timed our meal for a quieter time. Our holiday company organised some trips and on our free days we found enough to do in Porec. We made use of the Hotel's Concierge Service (Marija was very helpful) to book a boat trip to look for dolphins. The trip was good value (we paid a similar price for a dolphin spotting trip in Wales) and the dolphins put on a great show. Given the time of year not many people used the pool and at times my cousin had the pool to herself - another bonus. If you like cycling then bike hire is available and there seem to be many cycle routes available to explore. In conclusion, the team at the Hotel are to be commended for all their hard work and we would highly recommend the Valamar Parentino Hotel, either for a relaxing or active holiday.

I’ve given a five star rating for the Valamar Parentino in Porec but there were a couple of annoyances to be aware of. The good bits 1. Great location in Porec (and having travelled to Pula and Rovinj, Porec is definitely the best of the three to stay in). Nice walks up the beach to Spadici or down towards Porec town from the hotel. 2. Lovely rooms. Really comfortable beds, spacious rooms, plenty of storage, great bathroom, free safe, kettle on request, fridge plenty big enough for large (1.5litre) water bottles, beers and milk. Large balcony too. 3. Staff (except for a few in the restaurant) were very friendly and happy to help with any request. 4. Pools - nice , warm big pool. The other pool with a small lazy river wasn’t heated so didn’t try it. The small water slides were great fun (even for adults). Plenty of sun beds, outdoor jacuzzi and relaxation area. 5. Small pump track for bikes if you or the kids like that sort of thing and the bike shop where you can hire some really top spec bikes. 6. Food - generally really good and tasty. Always something there to choose from. We stayed 9 days and it was getting a bit same-y but that’s to be expected. 7. Kiddies zone. Didn’t use it but kids play and PlayStation area looked excellent 8. The bar area was ok. One pool table (which is free to play), table tennis table and table football. Not bad but seemed a bit cramped with so many residents. Obviously less of an issue in warmer months with the outside area more usable. Not quite as good. 1. The restaurant. We were a party of 6 and struggled every visit to get a table for all 6 us. And never, in all my holidays have I ever come across such rude and oblivious residents. Barging into you when sat down, pushing into (very obvious) queues for food or drinks etc. Perhaps customs vary in other European cultures but surely being polite is something everyone should do? 2. Also the restaurant - the time allotted to the evening meal (2 hours) not enough to feed everyone so it became a cattle market (see above), especially if you wanted to eat early. Our first meal was awful until we got used to it.

Very nice hotel, well located for sea swimming (be sure to have beach shoes) and for strolling along coast into the lovely little town of Porec (15 mins). Rooms kept very clean, comfortable beds, great shower pressure and lots of wardrobe/drawer space. Food selection at breakfast and dinner buffets incredible, something for everyone and much of it being freshly cooked before your eyes. Dining room does get busy though, not always easy to find a table, would suggest that a member of staff be on hand to direct people to vacant tables at busy times. Nice pools and no problem getting sun loungers - but it was at the end of the season, I imagine when hotel is full in height of season it might be a different story!

A large family hotel with over 320 rooms. It was perfectly placed for a 20 minute stroll into the beautiful city of Porec or just a couple of minutes from the sea. The staff were very friendly and our room was spaceous, clean and comfortable with a renovated bathroom that had a large walk in shower. Unfortunately we faced towards a hotel being built and we couldn't sit on the balcony because of dust and noise. There was plenty of space outside around the pool. We were half board and the food was exceptional with a great choice, mostly cooked for you. It was the German half term when we were there so there were many families. Being retired teachers we look forward to quiet holidays and it wasn't quiet! At 8 every evening there was a children's disco and as there were no quiet areas in the lounge we ended up going to our room. Most of our group did the same so we couldn't really socialise with them after the meal. We asked if the hotel had a separate quiet lounge but there wasn't. Even a receptionist said they don't like that evening shift because of the noise of loud music and children screaming.
