“Fabulous first visit to Croatia!”

Pleasantly surprised by our stay at the Dalmacija Places hotel. We couldn’t fault it! The staff were super friendly and helpful; the rooms and common areas were clean and well maintained; the buffet breakfast was lovely and had something for everyone. The pool area was very nice with a great bar serving delicious lunch options. The cocktails on offer were very tasty and reasonably priced! There was a fun games room and lovely restaurant terrace. I also loved the music played by the pool and around the hotel… The resort of Makarska was also fab! The beach was easily accessed from the hotel via a tunnel, and the sea was so clear and beautiful. Sea shoes advisable as it was stoney. We found some really good restaurants all accessed via the promenade just outside the hotel. It took 20 mins to walk to the marina and old town which is well worth a visit. So pretty day or night. It was fairly busy in the evenings along the promenade but there was a lovely atmosphere and it was very family friendly. Would definitely go back to Makarska and stay at the Places hotel if there weren’t so many other places to try first!

Hotels employees are extremely nice, friendly and helpful, making the whole experience that much greater. Beautiful near the seaside and city center location. Definitely hoping to come here again!

“Makarska”

Super hotel, food, waiters, the beach is nice, also pool, town, we will come again, it is clean, I like the concept of the hotel, the restaurant is big, also dj atvthe pool, the animation is very nice, you can so the ling walk, go by bike, in June it is nice weather, but not so hot yet.

Pros: Nice open and airy spaces. Very clean Friendly staff Good location Nice balconies with good views. Pool area a good size with policing of the early morning sun bed claimers. Rooms cleaned to a good standard. Comfy bed - good air con. Cons: Buffet hours between 7-9pm are too short. Kitchen staff unable to replenish food quick enough or not at all. £25 allowance does not afford a decent meal from the lunch (al la carte) menu. You should be able to have 3 courses. Menu choice very limited. Stupid sun bed towel policy. Either sit on a dirty towel or pay 2 euros for a new one. Any decent hotel should provide ample towels for use. Very little storage in room, shower area lacked any ventilation and was always soaking - poor design. DJ was rubbish - Personal opinion. The hotel lacked atmosphere. Wife emailed ahead regarding a birthday celebration. Nothing was mentioned during our stay. Overall, quite a funky looking hotel that didn’t meet our expectations. Food offering disappointed and that’s the main reason why we wouldn’t return.
