“Fantastic family holiday”

We went during half term, and were really pleased with our choice of hotel. It was beautiful, very modern and fantastic facilities. Our room was not ready upon arrival and we were asked to come back a couple of hours later. Well the wait was well worth it. We had been given a free upgrade to the presidential suite. Which was mind blowing, it was such a beautiful hotel room, we had a hot tub and a sun terrace. The suite was amazing. We had such a wonderful family holiday and this was just the icing on the cake. A huge thank you to the hotel for this. The restaurant was very busy (as you would expect during half term) but the staff were brilliant at keeping up with demand and were constantly providing fresh food to eat. The restaurant is buffet style which was good. The only thing I would say is that tea time is 7pm which is very late for children. Also there was no children’s meal options available. A children’s area with some child friendly food would be a good improvement. E.g plain pasta, chicken bites etc… The hotel was in beautiful grounds and the Maro World for children’s amazing, such a brilliant facility for children of all ages. The beaches were stunning a 10 minute walk away, but good paths to walk on. Shops very close by and Dubrovnik is only a short bus ride away. We had a brilliant holiday and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

What a beautiful hotel, in a stunning location. The views of the nearby Eliphante Islands are amazing. Sunsets to die for. The indoor and outdoor pools were really big and the facilities first class. We were there for half term and there were 11 of us in our group. Ages ranged from 9 to 80 and we all had a great time. I have seen a few people complaining about the food. I thought the food was excellent and the choice at breakfast was more than most places I have seen before. There were also numerous coffee locations and places to make tea etc, despite one person claiming the opposite. There are plenty of nice restaurants dotted about and the walk along the promenade to the west of the hotel takes past quite a few of these. We were there end of season so it will be quiet in the area for a few months now. But I would certainly go back. There are plenty of buses to take you the short distance into Dubrovnik as well. Take the whingers on here with a pinch of salt though! One suggestion to improve breakfast would be little milk jugs for tea. If they existed I couldn't find them.

Croatia (Dubrovnik) is beautiful, we couldn't fault it. The hotel and location was lovely, initial thoughts were amazing, room was clean and spacious (we had x2 adjoining). Pleasant and friendly staff. All started very well. Food, restaurants and snack bars on offer, more than enough options however, a massive thing for us was the dinner timings, food started at 7pm! Having a 3yr old proved challenging to work around this time as we were on half board. "Too late" for us! Buffet style eating too, fresh and pre-prepared, lots of options, can be overwhelming if you have young children again if busy but we coped. No entertainment as it was end of season as well, pools were nice, outside and inside, outside being VERY cold, inside slightly warmer. As this hotel was 1 of 5, part of the Valamar group, we could use and did find the hotel next door (Valamar Tirena Hotel) was more accommodating for families ie slides etc and we also used the beach at (The President Hotel) you just need to take your hotel room key to obtain access to it, free of charge as well! Its only a short walk, as is most things from this hotel. Shops, bars and restaurants also in walking distance as was Maro World, again free of charge once you confirmed your hotel details. A great place for kids. Dubrovnik "old town" is a must see too, 20min bus ride (right outside the hotel, direct) potential for some great walks and high views in and around the marina, not ideal again for younger kids or elderly as some steep climbs and alot of walking but a must see. I would recommend at least staying half board if staying in Dubrovnik as it is expensive. We would visit again.
