We had a fantastic stay at Valamar Argosy. It is very nice hotel, with a good location and facilities and we would absolutely consider returning. We travelled (for the first time) with our 6 month old baby, and he was always accommodated for and the hotel was a brilliant place to enjoy our first holiday as a family together. It was great for us with a young baby, but it is more of an adult centric hotel than a family one for older children. Food and Drink is great, pools fantastic, make sure you make use of the sister hotel (Dubrovnik President) for a very nice beach and bars. Location The location is great. It provides a brilliant base for exploring Dubrovnik and the surrounding areas. We walked in to the Old Town, which took around 45 minutes, and there are numerous buses that take around 20 minutes, and taxis (taking 10 minutes for 10EUR). There is a peninsula around the area which is nice to walk around, and there some local bars and restaurants in the vicinity. Hotel Facilities The hotel itself is very nice. It has a modern feel and was always very clean and tidy. It has 2 beautiful outdoor swimming pools with amazing views, making them the perfect place to relax, with plenty of sun beds. We also used the indoor pool when we had bad weather, this is a nice space. There is no beach directly on the hotel, however, guests can use the beach at Argosy's sister hotel, Dubrovnik President. The beach here is amazing, with crystal clear water and nice sand/pebbles. There is a small charge if you want to use sunbeds. Guests have access to all Argosy hotels in the area and we would absolutely recommend a visit to the Dubrovnik President hotel, it is very nice and only a 2 minute walk away. It has a stunning bar where you can see the sunsets. Inside bars are lacking a bit at Argosy, there is a small lobby bar, which has live music every evening but tables are often taken at this time. The bar/restaurant adjacent to the pool is very nice. Food & Drink The food in the hotel was very good. We stayed on a Half Board basis and had very nice meals for Breakfast and Lunch. Both were buffets and of high quality, with a varied selection. Drinks were also good. Very nice Croatian draught beer (Karlovacko), which cost 6.20 EUR for 500ml which felt about right price was. Cocktails were 9 EUR with a nice selection and good wines were available too (starting from around 20EUR). Staff were very friendly and looked after us very well at meal times and in the bars. Thank you to them especially. There are a few local shops within walking distance to purchase drinks/snacks if necessary. Rooms The room we stayed in was very tidy and ideal for what we needed. A travel cot was provided for our baby. We would recommend a sea view as there are amazing views to be had around the hotel. Brilliant stay, and we had very little negatives to mention and would highly recommend.

Stayed for 4 nights at the Valamar Argosy Hotel. We were allocated a Sea View room which was lovely, clean and spacious. The hotel is in a great location just 5 mins from the bus stop. Purchase the ticket from the shop in the hotel 6.90 return for 2 adults into the Old Town. The staff were all friendly, especially the dining room staff and the lady on the dining room meet and greet. Considering the hotel was closing for the season in a week they were all still working with a smile. There was plenty of choice of food, for both breakfast and evening meal. The only fault with the Restaurant was the tables were very close together, sometimes you felt as though your were having dinner as a table for 4. The views are amazing and the coves where you can swim in the sea just a short walk away. I would definitely recommend this hotel for your stay in the Babin Kuk/Lapad area

First time to Dubrovnik and we decided to stay here based on other TripAdvisor reviews. When we arrived, we were taken aback by the size of the hotel and it's facilities. It felt like an all inclusive resort. Prior to booking, I emailed the hotel but it was a sales team and I informed them we were coming here for my Mum's late birthday and retirement celebration. They said they would leave a note and do something. Upon check in and getting to our room, there wasn't anything so I was disappointed. A bit of back and forth, but I decided to draw a line under it and move on. When we were on our way to Split, I realised I had forgotten my earphones in the room. Credit where credit is due, they sent it on a coach and my earphones were returned to me 2 days later so thank you! The pool is great and so are the gardens with ample of seating and garden chairs. The breakfast buffet was great with a wide selection of dishes. Would recommend this hotel!

This hotel exceeded expectations - room was a good size with an amazing view, breakfast and dinner were buffet-style with plenty of options, lots of sunbeds around the pools, circular coastal path around Babin Kuk which you access from the back of the hotel, bus stop outside for no 6 bus to Dubrovnik Old Town (bus tickets available from the hotel shop), and hotel bar staff make a great Pina Colado cocktail. Nothing to fault with this hotel, we had a great holiday and hope to return soon.

Booked via British Airways Holidays, when we arrived we were given the key to a room on the 4th floor and told it was a park view. Room was small, dark, no balcony and looked out on to a concrete square. No offer to take our bags. We phoned down to ask to be moved only to be told it would cost more. We had no problem with that but the attitude was dreadful. Eventually went with the third room shown. No mini bar or water, shower had one 'shower gel, shampoo, conditioner' fine as shower gel awful on hair, hairdryer didn't work (Eventually sorted). Very disappointing definitely not 4*. Other facilities and restaurant staff excellent.
