“Absolutely perfect hotel I world definitely stay again!!!!”

From the second we stepped foot in the hotel the service and attention to detail was perfect. The rooms were beautiful and the view spectacular. Breakfast was delicious and the views again fabulous. Quick walk to the old city. Highly highly recommend this hotel.

I loved the Hotel Bellevue! I was taken by the Tripadvisor reviews' stunning views from the balconies. The hotel's views looked just like they did in the pictures. I spent ages just staring out at the view of the ocean (and made it down to the beach once too). The food there was fantastic; the Vapor restaurant is excellent for dinner, and the breakfast made me overeat as well. All the staff were unfailingly helpful, friendly, and courteous, from the housekeeping staff, to the barman, to the concierge, to the room-service man, to the folks serving breakfast and dinner. The concierges were happy to give detailed advice as to where to go (I had wanted to taste some traditional Croatian dishes, so they pointed me to a place that served something called Sporki Makaruli, which I loved; also, they sent me to the Gradska Kavanu, which had a plum spot and excellent cappuccino). The hotel is beautiful, and it has an excellent location (though note: it's all an uphill climb when you're coming back from Old Town Dubrovnik, so you may want to take a taxi or a bus back!). I have no complaint at all about this hotel; I will certainly be happy to stay here again, if I should again visit the fascinating and historic town of Dubrovnik.

Just back to the US after a wonderful stay at this hotel. Take me back! The best part of Hotel Bellevue are its views. They are breathtaking! What a treat it was to open our shades in the morning and have a cup of coffee on our deck as we marveled at the beauty of Dubrovnik. Other Hotel Bellevue superlatives: Very clean, updated, comfortable beds, friendly staff, spacious rooms and did I mention the view? 😊 We spent a lot of time swimming and cliff jumping at the beach. There is also a very cool cave you can swim into right off of the beach as well. We ate lunch and had drinks daily at the beach cafe. Special shout-out to our awesome waiter, Ivan! The breakfast was also one of our favorite things about this hotel. Such a variety and so delicious. Thank you, Hotel Bellevue! We will be back!

I have mixed feelings about this hotel and given the choice would probably have given it 3.5 stars rather than 4! First the good points. The Bellevue is a modern hotel about a 20 minute walk downhill to the Old City. The hotel has been recently renovated and rooms are modern with stunning views over the coast. Most rooms have balconies too although it should be noted that rooms are small with very little storage and only showers instead of baths and showers. Breakfast was decent and my husband was impressed with his eggs each morning but I would have liked a larger fruit section and a better pastry selection. I didn’t try the spa but my husband had a massage and said it was good. We found the concierge and indeed all the staff to be generally cheerful and willing to help but my overall impression was of lack of experience. Now the less positive elements. The hotel is on a small public beach and had a terrace with sun loungers and a restaurant. Whilst literature about the hotel makes it clear that the beach is public photographs are misleading about how much space belongs to the hotel. The answer is none other than the deck above the beach. On the day that we arrived we decided to go and relax by the beach but found that it was completely full - there is only space for around 35 loungers and the beach is very full with a young crowd. The hotel try to be vigilant about non hotel guests using the loungers but people regularly come off the beach to use the towels and loungers before being asked to move. It doesn’t make for a relaxing area. Also unlike most 5* hotels when you arrive there is no offer of complimentary water or anyone to bring you towels. Given the beach options we hired a boat for a few days while we were there through the hotel. We asked what would happen if there was bad weather and were told that the day would be cancelled. There were in fact two bad weather days and whilst the boat company agreed to cancel the first on the second day they insisted that the weather was fine although we said it looked too windy. We were on the boat for around an hour or an hour and a half max before the skipper confirmed that it was too windy and we returned to the hotel. Despite this we were charged for a half day - 4 hours. Whilst I appreciate that this was charged by the boat company the hotel was extremely unhelpful at check out and simply shrugged and refused to speak with the boat company. Housekeeping was mixed while we were there. Turndown was not really offered unless you specified you wanted the service. Instead housekeeping would knock around 6pm offering chocolates. I had to repeatedly request that they come back and do turndown once we had gone out for the evening. Ultimately I felt that the hotel was rather style over substance and while there was nothing actually wrong with it we certainly didn’t feel that we were in a 5* hotel.
