“GOOD QUALITY 3 STAR HOTEL”

The Hotel exceeded our expectations after reading mixed reviews online. It is a 3 Star Hotel and although the rooms were basic the beds were very comfortable, nice fluffy pillows too. Yes, the bed linen was a bit 'tired' but it was clean . The walk-in Shower was lovely and powerful and enough room for Loo and Wash Basin. The Dining Hall looks fairly basic with Plastic Chairs and Tables but obviously easier to keep clean and the food was very varied, plentiful and delicious, definitely no complaints there. There is a nice little Park as you turn right out of the entrance and a ten minute walk through it leads to where the Busses stop/start that take you to the Old City Wall and entrance to the City. Buy your return tickets from the lovely little gift shop inside the Hotel entrance for only 3.5 euros to the Old Town and back. There is some entertainment on weekend nights but not in the week. A lovely Swimming Pool with plenty of Sun Loungers, table and chairs by the Bar there too. Drinks are roughly the same at Hotel as in and around Old Town and some nice quiet areas in and around the Hotel to sit and have a drink or just relax. Weather was very good for our last week in September and if I have any criticism it would be for tea/coffee making facilities in the room as although now a full-board Hotel you can't get a cuppa first thing in the morning or last thing before going to bed. I always bring my travel kettle but as no fridge in the room we took enough milk up to room from dining hall to cover this each day.

Really good stay! Gorgeous view from our room, comfy beds. Just beware if you have mobility issues everything is on a hill, you even have to walk down a hill to the pool. Really good stay! Gorgeous view from our room, comfy beds. Just beware if you have mobility issues everything is on a hill, you even have to walk down a hill to the pool. Ramps good for disabled though. Food was better than expected, varied & always tasty. Service on reception ok, the staff could be more friendly, but aside from taxi drivers we found staff everywhere in Dubrovnik quite brusque & not overly welcoming! Everybody we spoke to seemed to speak perfect English which was helpful. One major issue for us was the shower which was quite slippery & no handles to grab onto, the door knobs to get out of the bathroom are ridiculously small & hard to get hold of, I don’t think a child would get out of there without help. The drinks are not too bad, around 4-5 euros for a beer or a Coke. Really easy to get around, Uber into the old town was between 7-11 euros depending on demand There is a shop in the hotel which is pricey but convenient, be aware we spent double what we’d budgeted for as Dubrovnik is expensive. There is a small shopping area a very short walk away which we didn’t find until day 3 & had a good selection of souvenirs & groceries, also a pizzeria & other bars/restaurants. Overall we enjoyed it but would take more spending money!

The rooms are very disappointing with no fridge, no kettle or coffee service and the rooms always smelled MUSTY ... unforgivable the no one (housekeeping for example) noticed the foul odour and never fixed it beforehand. The bedding is inferior quality and uncomfortable. TV is on the small side but lots of English news channels (and many other languages too). The shower is a half bathtub ... not up to standard for a better quality hotel. Only 1 small end table and 1 bistro table in the room ... nowhere to put luggage other than in the narrow closets in the hallway (inconvenient and awkward. The bathroom is quite small and always hitting the wall to get to the toilet. Terrible room design. Food is quite good except for fake (Tang-like) orange "juice". Front staff and restaurant staff are friendly. Overall hotel design is disjointed and awkward with regards to floor plans and lack of elevators ... same floors not connected from one side to the other. Swimming pool is quite large include large pool deck. Overall not recommended for couples or adults without children. Could be a fun place for children.
