We stayed in room CV14 on the 3rd floor in the adults only section. Wonderful room with a jungle and sea view. People have mentioned the monkeys visiting and they are an absolute pain in the backside. While we were at the hotel - for 3 nights - they stole my wife's toast at breakfast (we weren't aware of them at the time), turned on the tap to the tub outside our room so it was absolutely full when we noticed - the overflow worked perfectly - and stole a towel from the balcony of the room across from us. After the breakfast episode I kept my fork at the ready the next time they were hovering - there were a lot of them - but didn't think it was p/c to start attacking the wildlife, so restrained myself... There ARE water sprays on each table, but we didn't know what they were for initially! Apart from the monkeys the hotel is very good. It is REALLY hilly, so if you have walking difficulties, avoid it. We are in our 70's though and it was fine. Bit of a trek up and down the hill to the main beach, but if you want a quieter place, walk to Biesanz Beach. You turn right at the entrance, up the hill, get to the top, walk about 500 yards along the top - passing a couple of decent supermarkets - and then left, down a long hill to a dodgy bit of ground to the beach. It's sign-posted and takes about 45 minutes, but it's quiet(ish) and you can hire a couple of recliners + umbrella for 2 colones (1 for each) for the day if you negotiate. We got offered 2 for 5 initially. It's worth the walk and we saw a lot of wildlife that way - macaws + a howler monkey and a sloth along the busy road at the top! Not in the quieter spots which is odd. But we did see another sloth at the beach, plus a lot of other birds. We weren't keen on the pools at the hotel as they were very small and busy. Food was OK at breakfast, but waiter service so you can't fill up for the day as with a buffet. The Eggs Benedict was really runny but a nice change. We tried three of the restaurants on the site and they were all good. The pizza place was terrific. The 6% dark beer isn't dark at all. It's a really nice lager, so if you like a beer, drink that. I really liked the place and would recommend it. (We had lovely weather too).

We have just returned from 4 nights in one of the airplane suites, the Sky Loft and absolutely loved it! It has a huge balcony which was regularly visited by a cheeky troop of Capuchin monkeys who kept us entertained with their antics. There is also a troop of spider monkeys who kept to the front balcony with the outside bath. One even jumped in it whilst I was sitting on a chair. We came back from an excursion one day and they had turned the taps on! The views are just breath taking out over the trees to the sea and the sunsets are spectacular. We found the beds very comfortable with good mattresses and clean linens. The showers were powerful and everywhere was kept very clean and tidy. We also ate very well during our time there, trying out all of the restaurants. The portions are huge and we often shared between two. Everything was so fresh, tasty and well seasoned. We also found all of the staff from reception to waiting staff to drivers all very friendly, helpful and polite without exception. Special mention to Weiner at the Anaconda Cafe who served our breakfast every morning with a cheeky wink! We enjoyed La Cantina for dinner with it's live music. We only used the adult pool but found it quiet with a lovely terrace with great views. Couldn't hear any building work at all. A very special stay for us and we were sad to leave.

Our room CV8, one of the adults only ocean view rooms, had one of the most spectacular views. We had an amazing sunset view. The helipad area at the adults only pool also had an amazing ocean view and sunset view. We absolutely loved the Capuchin monkeys that came to our balcony almost every morning during our 8 night stay. The barista at the pool bar was very friendly and made an amazing Money Biz (frozen, Baileys, Bacardi, banana and coconut cream)!! One of two negatives was that street noise (big trucks and loud motorcycles) while out on our balcony during the day was quite loud. Luckily there was little to no noise inside the room. The other negative would be how stingy they are on towels. You get only only 2 towels for 2 people. You can not get another towel without exchanging one that you have. I for one do not want to use a towel at the pool and have to go all the to reception to get a dry towel to shower with. At least have an additional towel exchange at the pools. All in all this was a great place to stay and very clean.
