The Belmar is an absolute delight set in the hills with stunning views of the pacific coastline and the surrounding forests. It possesses its own farm, which you can visit for a half day and which proved to be one of the highlights of our whole vacation. They produce their own milk, eggs, veg, cheese, sugar and coffee all of excellent quality and reflected in the various menus available here. The food is stunning, and can be washed down with beer from their own brewery, which you can visit and sample. The rooms were clean, functional and with more fantastic views.

“Hotel in the Clouds! Dreamy!”

Hotel Belmar was literally the coolest hotel we went to in Costa Rica. Our room was so naturally sophisticated. We loved all the wood decor. Hotel Belmar was literally the coolest hotel we went to in Costa Rica. Our room was so naturally sophisticated. We loved all the wood decor. We stayed on the 3rd floor and, although windy at night, our balcony with the hanging chairs was so delightful. We loved making "coffee like a tico". The bathroom was beautiful and having bathrobes was so nice in the cool weather. The grounds are beautiful. We loved going down to the Belmar Brewery. I don't even drink beer, but I went with my husband for the beer tasting and it was delightful! The food is nice and fresh and the staff are lovely. I took two yoga classes with two different teachers and both were fantastic. I would recommend staying here for a very pleasant experience.

“Monteverde hotel”

Fabulous hotel. The views are second to none and the entire staff made us feel like we were family! We will recommend this hotel to everyone! They helped us understand what resources we could use at the hotel and offered many excursions. We took advantage of the on-site beer hall and walkways

“Not really five star. Perfectly ok but the rooms are so noisy with the wind blowing a howling gale so you won’t sleep!”

Good big boy great hotel, the rooms are large but cold and not well appointed. No amenities in the bathroom and the worst part is the design, as the wind howls all night and the windows are not sealed. Impossible to sleep. We booked the private dinner for our anniversary but it was disappointing. This was more expensive than Amor ARENAL and nowhere near that standard. 4 star really,
