Became one of my favorite places to stay when traveling to Colombia. The property is immaculate and clean, the food and beverage staff were kind, and the Front Desk Staff were ever so helpful with all of our questions. The pool was absolutely stunning and really allowed for us to be able to get the much needed relaxation we were looking for. The beach was nice….aside from the locals who were trying to sell you something every five minutes. A custom I believe given that wherever we went, it happened every single time. Definitely head to Gema Tours in their shopping area and they can assist in getting tours set up to take you around the beautiful landscape. There other shops we popped in but became quite aware that half of the products weren’t labeled….which made us think we will be charged more since we are from the States. Just be careful. I honestly do not want to leave but at least I now have my go-to hotel when coming to Cartagena.

It has its own beach with gray sand, but quiet. A good pool with good service. Because we are Hilton Honors, they upgraded us to an Executive suite and Executive lounge. Very good breakfast with excellent service, especially Sherienne (sorry if I don't write your name correctly), she went the extra mile with us. The suite had problems with the air conditioning but they immediately offered to change it, which we accepted. Hotel localizado en la zona moderna de Cartagena (EL Laguito, Bocagrande), alejado un poco del centro historico pero puedes usar taxis (negociar el precio primero). Tiene playa propia con arena gris, pero tranquila. Una buena piscina con buena atencion.Por ser Hilton Honnors nos hicieron un upgrade a Executive suite y Executive lounge.Muy buen desayuno con un excelente servicio en especial Sherienne (disculapa si no escribo bien tu nombre), ella hizo el extra con nosotros. La suite tuvo problemas con el aire acondicionado pero enseguida ofrecieron cambiarnos lo que aceptamos

Sadly the standard of this hotel has fallen dramatically over the past couple of years. Service at reception and in the executive room are still good What lets the hotel down is the attention to the guest experience. Food and beverage availability plus the window cleaning. The executive room windows plus my guest room are so caked in dirt it is impossible to take a clear photo through them - see photos though they honestly do not show just how bad they are- some are caked in thick dirt Trying to order from a menu either at poolside or via room service is a challenge. Everytime you ask for something as simple as a beer rojo or negra is we do not carry at the moment. It’s a big hotel not a small guest house. Ask for ice cream- 7 flavors shown but only chocolate and strawberry available -all the handmade are unavailable. These are just examples of the pitiful attention to the F and B guest experience Not surprising this hotel has fallen so far from the top rankings in just a few years. Rooms have not been updated in years and are now feel dated. Upgraded to an executive room as a lifetime Diamond from a king ocean but w a crappy view. No slipoers, bathrobe or even a pen and paper. The bathroom room is just sad w a yellowing bathtub The intercontinental and Holiday Inn have much better rooms the latter at half the price - updated pools and better breakfast in a modern dining room vs the fight in the dining room at this Hilton which seems to have lacked any investment in years Apparently the manager only appears at 9.30 to 10am…..I suggest he spend a little more time walking around the hotel and maybe investing in a window cleaner If you have an Amex platinum look at the Santa Clara in the old city for FHR benefits and often you get a true 5 star hotel at the same price as this old dying relic
