“Good spot for good price”

My wife and me needed a well located place that wasn’t that expensive. We looked around and this place offered everything we were looking for. It is basic but will provide what you need for your money’s worth.

Very Low key. Great choice on a budget. This is a very low key hotel. Nothing sophisticated, very good for a night or two. Located in el Poblado is the price is considerably below other options around. So if you are on a budget and keep your expectations low, this is a perfect choice. Clean and simple rooms. If cable is important to you, stay away. Wifi services are also a little slow. Staff is friendly and breakfast is ok. Bed is not the best, too hard maybe.

This hotel consists mostly of condos. I expect there are very few actual hotel rooms. This results in a somewhat deserted feeling in the lobby and rarely anybody in the restaurant. On my first night there, I asked if the restaurant was open as the lights were off. They said sure, opened the door for me, turned on the lights and served a very acceptable meal - at rock bottom prices. (Beer is a bit pricey.) You have to wonder how they can afford to keep it open. Free hot breakfast is pretty good. The waiter was interested in practicing his English, so he was very attentive and we had several nice conversations. I was there for 6 nights and most of the desk clerks were great. A couple who did not speak English would try hard, but if we were unsuccessful, would go find someoene who did. There was one guy who was not helpful at all - forget his name - You just had to be direct and tell him what you need. One problem; this place is evidently difficult to find (and the sign is very small). I hailed cabs two different times within about two miles of the hotel - Even with the hotel's business card, the drivers had a lot of difficulty finding it. And 5 cab drivers in line at the Metro stop refused to even take me to the hotel - not sure why. The cab driver from the airport had no problem finding it at all. This is a somewhat residential neighborhood, with few restaurants. A bit of an issue when you just want to go out for something quick to eat. A few of the other reviews mentioned no air conditioning. True, but the evenings were cool, so no real problem. The wifi was not great in the room, but much better in the lobby.
