Our first time at the hotel and definitely not the last! We were a little bit nervous about the amount of people the resort held but do not worry about it, its so spread out and well ran you wont have to worry. breakfast/lunch and dinner as it all ran like clockwork and rarely was there more that 3-4 people Infront of us at peak times and this quickly moved on. On that note, the food; wow what a selection, probably the best we'd seen for a Hotel in this category, we dont eat meat and some places have limited alternatives that tend to be a bit repetitive, but here you are spoiled for choice, most nights there was at least 5 different fish dishes plus prawns, paella and stuff., From what we could see on the meat front it was just as extensive with large joints, chicken dishes, even yorkshire puds! etc. Loads of cold salads, pasta, pizza etc. Our room was large with what looked like a queen size double bed that was very comfortable, nice powerful shower, tea/coffee facilities (grab a glass of milk from the restaurant to pop in the fridge), regularly stocked fridge with water/soft drinks and beer. Gin, vodka, rum and whiskey too to help yourself to. if you struggle with stairs (there are no lifts) make sure you get a ground floor, from memory there 4 flights to our room on the top floor (level 2). Everywhere is kept very clean by the hard working staff. There are the usual sun bed clampers who cant bear sitting anywhere else but we didn't rush and often it was between 10-11am before we hit the sun and always got beds. probably the thing that made it for us was the staff, all of them including the chefs (they are often forgotten). so friendly and seemed to enjoy the vibe of the "no Stress" cape verde attitude. The entrainment team work flat out all day, if your not taking place the aqua sessions are such fun to watch and the guys/girls doing them are such a laugh, wakey wakey! ha ha We met some great people on holiday many had been before numerous times and everyone said you'd have a hard time beating it for the price. On the days the wind drops get on the beach and in the sea and make sure you are down there for at least one sunset.

“Amazing hotel and island”

We have recently returned from the hotel following a 11 night honeymoon. We absolutely loved the hotel and are planning to go back asap! Staff are so friendly and checked us in quickly. Our room was on the far side so bit of a walk between things but we didn't mind as the surroundings were so beaut… more

We have recently returned from the hotel following a 11 night honeymoon. We absolutely loved the hotel and are planning to go back asap! Staff are so friendly and checked us in quickly. Our room was on the far side so bit of a walk between things but we didn't mind as the surroundings were so beautiful. Food was always available and lots of selection. The beach was stunning and you could always get a lounger there or by the pool. However the entertainment staff made the holiday for us. All through the day there was lots to get involved with with the friendly riu fit and fun teams. But no pressure to join unless you wanted to and always quiet spots if you just wanted to relax. then at night great shows again put on by riu staff. The staff work so hard and make it look effortless and appear to really enjoy making sure you have the best time. Highly recommend

My opinion did not change Adults only resort yet children from Palace next door was with parents walking through resort not stopped by staff. ? sports bar ok but live sports keeps buffering SportsBar Very poor TV coverage and unfortunately the pool table was substandard with broken parts see attached photos Rooms very spacious with spirts and mini bar , safe in room , wardrobes are located in the bathroom , Bathroom had a small shower, no power and no bath - limited shower gels Kings size bed with seating area and 2 seated balcony Housekeeping very loud in the morning woke us up at 08.00 by shouting and being loud in the corridors even though they did not enter our room that early , is not what you you expect for a peaceful holiday. No clean towels when we went to exchange them at 1630 Drinks no branded drinks at the pool area whatsoever , Bacardi available at the main reception bar only but all local brands available throughout - no procesco or sparking wine but was told we can buy it … no Bombay Sapphire no Apple spritz Gym opened at 8 am poor size not enough equipment for the size the hotel very disappointed. But at the least did manage to do sessions by getting there at 7:45 to ensure I was the first one in line no water bottles or towels provided so take your own Food Reservations are easy to be made on the app but was told only 1 themed restaurant booking per stay ? - what’s that all about ??? Italian first night and it was as expected , plenty of choice and really tasty and service was spot-on , 3rd night we went back and the food was poor and the service not great to start with and food not replenished as you would expect . Restaurant as expected service is really good with plenty of choice of Asian foods white wine was house which was fine but again no sparkling wine. Ala carte restaurant by far the stand out food of the holiday everything course was spot on and delivered to the high standard you come to expect with a 5 star resort unfortunately everything else was not where near 5 star Lunch buffet - was told at 14.30 - that the club sandwiches were finished when I asked to be replenished - but buffet did not close until 17.00 poor service … Rui white party was excellent entertainment and sax player was superb Had to reinstall the RUi app twice which was not great
